Trooper Injured

A highway patrol trooper suffered minor injuries Sunday when her patrol car was rear-ended by a suspected drunk driver. It happened as 23-year-old Trooper Mystal Perkins was stopped at a red light at SE 29th and Walker. Her vehicle was rear-ended by a pickup truck driven by 26-year-old Juan Gonzalez of Clinton who fled the scene on foot after the crash but other troopers chased him and caught him. Trooper Perkins was treated and released from a metro hospital for her injuries and is expected to be back at work in a few days.
