A warning from the U.S. Attorney for Western Oklahoma, Sanford Coats, for those who might be thinking about robbing a bank:
"You won't get much money," Coats told KTOK.
He said those who commit bank robberies will be caught, and will spend an average of seven years in federal prison.
Coats said as of May 7th, there have been 20 bank robberies in western Oklahoma this year, compared to 23 total in the region, last year.
He said the reason for the spike is not clear.
